How Colorist – Adult Coloring Book handles your artwork, preferences, purchases, and information used for advertising and support.
Your privacy at a glance
- You do not need an account to use Colorist.
- Your drawings, coloring progress, saved editions, custom palettes, and preferences are stored on your device.
- The free version includes Google AdMob advertising, which involves third-party data processing.
- If you send feedback or contact support, we receive the information you choose to send.
- Apple handles payments. We do not receive your payment-card details.
1. About this policy
Danish Khan ("we," "us," or "our") develops Colorist for iPhone and iPad. This policy covers the app and these privacy and support pages. It explains information processed directly by us and by services used in the app. Colorist is an adult coloring app and is not designed specifically for children.
2. Artwork and information stored on your device
Colorist stores your coloring progress, brush strokes, undo history, artwork previews, imported drawings and their source images, saved coloring editions, custom palettes, activity journal, favorites, personalization answers, reminder settings, other preferences, and purchase status locally.
Artwork processing takes place on your device. The app does not upload your drawings, selected photos, palettes, or coloring history to a developer-operated server. We cannot retrieve your local artwork for you. Colorist does not provide its own account-based cloud synchronization.
Apple may include app data in an iCloud or computer backup according to your backup settings. We do not have access to those backups.
3. Advertising and consent
The free version uses Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Google and advertising partners may process your IP address and approximate location derived from it, device or app identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, and diagnostic and performance information. These data support ad delivery, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention. Processing depends on your region, consent choices, device settings, and the advertising configuration.
Colorist uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request applicable consent and manage advertising privacy choices. When available, you can revisit those choices in Settings → About → Privacy options. Declining personalized advertising does not necessarily remove all ads; limited or non-personalized ads may still be available where permitted.
Apple controls access to the advertising identifier (IDFA). European advertising consent does not itself grant Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission. Device advertising privacy settings are available in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Pro suppresses ad requests and ad presentation in Colorist. Consent choices may still be managed where required. Advertising services handle information they have already received under their own policies.
Read Google's Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from apps that use its services, and Google's iOS advertising data disclosure.
4. Feedback and support
If you use Send Feedback, the app sends your selected feedback category, message, optional email address, and technical context: app name, version and build, bundle identifier, iOS version, and device model. Feedback is submitted to Google Forms and may be stored in a developer-accessible Google spreadsheet. Google processes the submission under its privacy policy and may receive network information such as your IP address.
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you include. We use feedback and support information to respond, investigate problems, and improve Colorist. Providing a reply email in the in-app feedback form is optional. Please avoid including passwords, payment-card details, or other sensitive information.
We do not sell your support messages or contact details. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights or security, or to providers needed to handle your request.
5. Purchases
Optional Pro purchases and restores use Apple's in-app purchase system. The app receives transaction and entitlement information needed to verify and maintain access. Apple processes payment and Apple Account information under Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive your payment-card details from the app.
6. Permissions, reminders, and sharing
- Selected photos: importing uses the system photo picker to access the image you choose.
- Camera: if you choose a camera-based import, camera access is used to capture your drawing.
- Saving to Photos: permission may be requested to save an image or video you choose to export.
- Notifications: daily reminders are scheduled locally. They require system permission and can be turned off in the app or iOS Settings.
If you export or share artwork, it goes to the location, app, or recipient you choose. Their privacy practices apply to information you share with them.
7. Retention, deletion, and backups
Local information remains until you remove it through the available app controls or delete the app. You can delete imported drawings and saved editions, manage palettes, and edit personalization in the app. Deleting the app removes its local container; offloading the app may preserve data. Exported files, shared copies, and device backups must be managed separately.
Feedback and support correspondence are retained for as long as needed to handle requests, investigate issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. To request deletion of correspondence we hold, contact us using the email below. Advertising services and Apple control retention of information they process; their privacy policies and controls apply.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, request portability, or withdraw consent. You may also have the right to complain to a relevant privacy authority. Contact us about information held by us; use the relevant provider's controls or contact channels for information held independently by Google or Apple.
Changing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before the change. Because local artwork is not uploaded to us, we cannot access or delete it remotely.
9. Children, security, and international processing
Colorist is intended for adults and a general audience rather than as a children's service. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13 through feedback or support. If you believe a child has supplied such information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
Local data is protected by iOS device protections, and the app's feedback submission uses HTTPS. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Google, Apple, and email providers may process information in countries other than your own under their respective privacy practices and applicable safeguards.
10. These web pages
These pages are hosted on GitHub Pages. They contain no developer-added advertising, analytics scripts, or contact forms. GitHub may process technical request information, including IP addresses, when delivering the pages. See GitHub's Privacy Statement. Following an external link or opening your email app is subject to the destination's privacy practices.
11. Updates and contact
We may update this policy when Colorist or its data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Where required, we will provide notice or request consent for material changes.
