Stoic Reflection ("the app," "we," "our") is a daily journaling and reflection app. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. We've written it to actually reflect what the app does — not a generic template.
Stoic Reflection does not require an account. Your journal reflections, streaks, and preferences are stored on your device and shared locally with the app's widget. The app uses Google AdMob for advertising and Apple StoreKit for purchases. If you choose to send feedback, your message, category, optional email address, and basic app and device context are sent to Google Forms and stored in a Google Sheets response spreadsheet accessible to us.
The app does not automatically upload your journal, setup name, contacts, photo library, or personal messages to us. It does not request precise location access. In particular, the following information stays private unless you choose to include it in feedback or share it through another app:
If you enter a name during setup to personalize your greeting, it is stored only on your device and never transmitted to us.
The app stores the following locally, using iOS's standard app storage and a shared App Group (so your streak and daily quote can appear on your home screen widget):
The app does not send these records to us. iOS backup and restore may retain app data according to your device and iCloud settings. Deleting the app removes its local app data; copies in backups or content you previously shared may remain.
Sending feedback is optional and does not change your access to the app. When you press Send feedback, we collect the category and message you entered, any email address you supply, and technical context: app version and build, app identifier, iOS version, and device model. We do not attach journal entries, your setup name, or purchase history. Please avoid including sensitive information in your message.
We use feedback to answer support requests, investigate problems, and improve the app. An email address is optional and is used to respond to your feedback. We do not use feedback for advertising or sell it. Google processes and stores submissions through Google Forms and Google Sheets; its services may also process connection information such as your IP address under the Google Privacy Policy.
Retention and deletion: We retain submitted feedback and any email address and technical context included with it for up to 12 months from submission, then delete the response from Google Forms and the linked Google Sheets spreadsheet. You may request earlier deletion by emailing danishk7809@gmail.com. Please include enough information to identify your response, such as its approximate submission date and message. We will use these details to locate and delete the response; an anonymous response may be difficult to identify without them. Deleting the app does not delete a feedback response already submitted to Google Forms.
Free users may see banners, interstitial ads, and optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob. Rewarded ads can unlock features or complete a day without writing. AdMob may process device identifiers, IP address and approximate location derived from it, app and ad interactions, and diagnostic information to deliver ads, measure performance, and prevent fraud.
The app checks Google's consent status before initializing ads and requesting them. Where required, Google displays privacy choices; you can reopen these using Settings → Privacy choices when that option is available. Google's practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy. iOS tracking controls apply to access permitted by iOS; Apple's Apple Advertising settings govern Apple's own ads, not AdMob.
Lifetime Pro and an active Pro trial suppress displayed ads. The current app can still initialize the advertising SDK and preload ads after consent permits requests, even when Pro access is active. Ad-related processing may therefore still occur without an ad being displayed.
Apple processes the lifetime Pro purchase and the optional seven-day Pro trial through StoreKit. The trial does not renew or automatically charge you; after it expires, Pro features require a separate lifetime purchase. We never receive your payment-card details. The app reads verified purchase records to determine access, restore purchases, and calculate trial expiry. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
If you enable daily reminders, the reminder is scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification system. This never leaves your device or gets reported anywhere.
The app can create quote cards, videos, wallpapers, and screenshots for sharing or saving. You choose any custom background through the system photo picker; the app does not upload it to us. Saving content to Photos requires your permission. Sharing uses the iOS share sheet, and the destination app or service handles the content under its own privacy practices. Exported files may remain in Photos, temporary app storage, or services you choose to share them with.
Stoic Reflection is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us using the details below.
We will update the date above when this policy changes. Where a change requires new consent, we will request it before the relevant collection or use.
